We're going to Tibet!!! I'm sitting in Cafe New Orleans (where they have wireless) in Thamel. We came here today to see the travel agent, and we put down our deposit, so on July 7, we'll be leaving for Tibet. Actually I had to borrow money to put down my deposit, because Wells Fargo hates me now or something, but I already knew that. So yeah...Tibet...woo hoo.

Great! You may be seeing Tibet at a time before it changes irrevocably forever. With the world spotlight caused by the Olympics, the new train and highway, the burgeoning tourist industry, the desire in China for raw materials, and disputes over water rights, the place likely won't be anything like it is now in a few years.
it has been far too long since your last post....i'm assuming you don't have internet in tibet. i hope it's amazing. i can't wait till next semester so i can come see you in philly and you can come to boston. but sadly there will be no golden spoon involved :( miss you!
